Short bio
Antonina Vakhrushina is an artist and teddy bear maker from Samara, Russia. Every bear exists exactly once: its own pattern, its own character, and an outfit where every element — birds, hares, lettering, tiny hearts — is embroidered by hand, stitch by stitch. Her bears live with collectors in several countries.
Facts
- All pieces are OOAK — one of a kind, no editions, no repeats.
- All embroidery on the clothing is worked by needle, by hand; a hand stitch never lands twice the same way, so an outfit cannot be reproduced.
- Philosophy: the bears are made to be hugged and travelled with, not kept behind glass.
- A bear often arrives with a companion — a small friend that turns a figurine into a scene.
- A second strand of the practice is watercolour illustration: the same characters live on paper and on merch.
- Prices range from €150 to €1,500 depending on size and the amount of embroidery.
